EORI

As of July 1st this year EORI, Economic Operator Registration and Identification, will be introduced. EORI is an EU-wide register of all companies that have customs activities in the EU.

The basic purpose of EORI is to establish a system whereby every trader who interacts with Customs Authorities in any Member State of the EU is allocated a unique reference number.

The number will be mandatory for traders in all import and export declarations with effect from 1 July 2009.

Attached is a list of the authorities in each country where companies have to apply for EORI number.
