The customs regulations within EU are changing and from July 1, 2009 these will initially effect all exporters that ship goods out of the European Union. The additional pre-departure information forms part of a new risk analysis that customs authorities within EU have been demanded to introduce to identify shipments from a risk and safety perspective.
There may be some differences between the member countries of the Union because the legislation is not ready in all countries.
