vidar.gundersen@kghcustoms.com

Vidar Gundersen has been working with international trade, border and customs procedures and customs modernisation the greater part of his life. For the last twenty years Vidar has been dedicated to continuously developing border services processes, procedures and IT systems, both inside and outside Customs.

During the 90’s Vidar Gundersen was CEO for KGH Spedition.

After that he started working in the Swedish Customs, as Head of Strategy and later CIO. He has been in the lead of the transformation of the agency into one of the leading customs organisations in the world. With relatively limited resources Swedish Customs have created price winning service models creating business value to both our customers and the customs agency – trade facilitation in practice. He has been working with models spanning from traditional customs procedures; tariffs, valuation, declaration handling, duty collection and enforcement, to advanced Authorised Economic Operator Concepts and e-Government Services. These models are later successfully adapted on an international level, both as a basis for the EU AEO concepts and as part of the WCO Framework of Standards (SAFE).

Mr. Gundersen has also been engaged as a chairman in the work creating the new import procedures for the European Union and been representing Sweden in the steering committee (Electronic Customs Group) responsible for the EU reform program (MASP – Multi Annual Strategic Plan). Before that he was engaged in the work establishing the ICT strategy for the Customs Union and at the same time engaged in the Swedish Governments board for ICT development in government agencies.
